Crushing Boring Snacks Forever!
Don't you get tired of coming up with new, interesting snacks? I know I do. I'm always on the lookout for easy, nutritious ways to fill up in a balanced way. A little bit of protein and some carbs keep us all from becoming "Hangry" (aka. Hungry + Angry...let's not go there.) in the late afternoon.
My go-to proteins are hard boiled eggs, hummus, almond/peanut butter, yogurts, nuts/seeds and cheese. The carbs come in the form of scones (since most are low in sugar!), carrots, celery, red peppers, tomatoes, and various fruits.
On Sunday afternoons think about cooking some hard boiled eggs, cutting up celery sticks, red peppers, cucumbers and carrots and stocking up on nuts, hummus and cheese. You'll be ready for the week ahead and having it ready means you're less likely to snack on those chips!
Here are three easy ideas:
A Cranberry Orange or Spinach Feta scone plus a quartered avocado wrapped in a meat slice served with apples. (above photo)
Cut cucumbers and serve grape tomatoes with hummus and a Cinnamon Chip or a Bacon Cheddar scone.
Celery logs filled with almond butter paired with a Butterscotch Chocolate Chip or Cinnamon Chip scone.
Small but mighty snacks!
